The JROTC Rebel Battalion finished their inspection earning 595 points out of 600 and thus scoring a 99.1 %.  The HHS JROTC program has retained their status as a "Honor Unit With Distinction".

At the annual Georgia Vocational Agriculture Teachers Association (GVATA) mid-winter conference in Covington GA, Agriculture Teachers from throughout the state competed against one another in a series of competitions. This was the first year for the competitions. There were Sr. and Jr. competition categories depending on the length of time the teacher had been teaching. The Sr. was for the veteran teachers and the Jr. for the younger teachers.
 
 Mr. David Jenkins, Agriculture Teacher at Hephzibah High School, placed first in the Junior Division Wildlife Competition.  Congratulations, Mr. Jenkins!

Public Information

On Thursday January 21st, RCSS Superintendent Dr. Dana T. Bedden and Augusta Mayor Deke Copenhaver announced the development of a charitable fund for Haitian Children.  This fund is being managed by the Community Foundation of the CSRA and called the Haitian Children’s Fund.

Nutri-Café is the educational, easy and fun way for your students to plan meals and ensure healthy eating habits at school. Get Nutritional Values of each individual item, add items to the tray to build a meal and get the Nutritional Value of the tray. Compare the values with the USDA standards.

System News

FreeOnline ExPreSS (Exam Preparation for Science and Social Studies) will be offered by the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) online to all high school students and certificate of attendance recipients who were unsuccessful on or who have not yet taken the Science and/or Social Studies Georgia High School Graduation Test.  It will offer self-paced units based on the instructional plans created for the summer ExPreSS Program.
